The Suffolk Swords Slay the Dragon at St George’s Day Celebration

We kicked off the 2023 season with a bang at Grundy Park in Cheshunt, as part of the town’s St George’s Day celebration. The group put on a thrilling display of armoured combat, defeating an evil dragon that had come stomping into town in the process.

At the event, we put on a variety of activities, including ‘Arming the Knight’ where visitors were able to learn how to put on a suit of armour, from the chainmail to the helmet. Also, two Armored combat displays where we fought in full armour, using weapons such as swords, axes, and polearms.

A few of the Suffolk Swords also joined in with a tug-of-war with the local cadet group.

We had a great time at their first event of 2023 and are looking forward to many more events in the coming year.
